In one minute

I defined how FIGS shoppers moved from product discovery and availability checks to a cart and Shopify checkout. At Prada, I coordinated post-launch performance work so the 3D experience worked better for shoppers.

What I owned

For FIGS, I defined the product-data, availability, cart and checkout requirements; engineers implemented the integration.

For Prada Paradoxe, I investigated loading and scene-control issues after launch and coordinated client teams, technical artists, and engineers. The artists and engineers tested changes to materials and shaders.

What held up

FIGS connected product discovery, availability checks, an in-experience cart and Shopify checkout. Google Analytics recorded approximately 50,000 unique visitors in the first week; that describes audience reach, not a measured conversion lift.

For Prada Paradoxe, technical artists and engineers tested simpler materials and shaders. I coordinated the post-launch investigation and delivery as the team improved loading performance.

FIGS: the shopping path I defined

  1. Product discovery

API product data supplied the immersive experience.

  2. Availability

    GraphQL checks established product availability.

  3. Cart

Shoppers added products within the experience.

  4. Checkout

The journey continued to checkout in Shopify.

Explanatory reconstruction from my product work. This is not the original interface or source code; engineering implemented the integration.

Choice + alternatives

The consequential choice

FIGS: use API product data and GraphQL availability checks, keep the cart in the immersive experience, and hand checkout to Shopify. I defined the behavior across these boundaries so the shopping journey had a clear path.

Prada: continue investigating the experience after launch. I coordinated the loading and scene-control work with technical artists and engineers, connecting their tests to the experience the client needed.

Stakes

What was at stake

Shoppers needed to discover a product, see whether it was available, and reach checkout. A compelling 3D experience still had to work within the brand’s commerce systems.

Constraint

The hidden constraint

The commerce boundary differed by project: FIGS continued checkout in Shopify; Alo supported cart and checkout within its evergreen experience. Treating them as one implementation would hide the product decisions.

Prada Beauty combined fragrance and cosmetics experiences with multilingual content and market-specific commerce links. Performance and navigation still mattered after launch.

Delivery

What we built

A FIGS commerce journey with API product data, GraphQL availability, an in-experience cart, and Shopify checkout.

A Prada Luna Rossa Ocean Oculus experience, a Prada Paradoxe experience for mobile and desktop, and the virtual launch of Prada Beauty skincare and makeup, with multilingual content and market-specific commerce paths.
